Tasting notes

How it actually drinks

01

Nose

Bright lemon zest up front, then toasted oak and a soft vanilla underneath. It smells like a porch in July.

02

Palate

Crisp, clean citrus with the bourbon sitting just behind it: caramel, a little spice, no burn. Smooth, and still.

03

Finish

The lemon steps back, the bourbon carries it home. Rich, dry enough to want another, sweet only at the edges.

Serving

Three ways to pour it

How it was built to be drunk. Chill it hard, crack it, go. No carbonation means nothing fizzes over after a bumpy boat ride or a hot car.
A rocks glass, one large cube, the whole can and a lemon wheel. The slow melt opens up the oak. This is the one to make for somebody else.
Six cans into a pitcher over plenty of ice, a handful of lemon wheels and a few sprigs of mint. Pour at the table. Everyone will think you made it.
Don’t top it with soda; it is meant to be still. Don’t drink it warm; the lemon goes dull above about 50°F. And don’t add more bourbon; it is already balanced.

Yes, as stated on the can.
It doesn’t need the fridge to keep, but it does need to be cold to taste right. Chill it well before you pour.
